Mykonos
Known for its socialites, jet-setters and intense nightlife, Mykonos also has another face: a rare beauty and charm, not to mention some of the most beautiful beaches in Greece (see map of Mykonos).

April marks the start of the tourist season. The freshly laid-out streets and freshly painted houses of the capital (Chora), with their windows and balconies surrounded by bougainvillea, create a picture-postcard image.

Take a stroll through the streets of Chora. The walk will inevitably lead you to Little Venice, where the houses - with their wooden balconies - are literally built into the sea, opposite the windmills. The perfect place for a drink. The magic of a delicious cocktail, watching the sun set as it disappears into the sea far over the horizon, is a must.

And if you get tired of wandering through the narrow cobbled streets because of the crowds, which is very likely, you should know that Chora is surprisingly calm in the mornings (it was a short night for some people...).

The beaches
The picturesque Ornos. Near Chora, the picturesque village of Ornos is home to one of the island's best-known and most popular beaches. The fine white sand and shallow turquoise waters make it ideal for families with children!

Agios Ioannis for calm and relaxation. With a privileged view over the island of Delos, this beautiful sandy beach with its crystal-clear waters offers some of the most relaxing moments on the island!

Korfos. Just outside the town of Chora, Korfos is a surfer's paradise beach.

Psarou beach  The cosmopolitan choice. This beach, a symbol of the international jet set, invites you to dive alongside international celebrities and offers you a good dose of 'cosmopolitan' summer relaxation.

Agios Stefanos. It is located on the west coast of the island, 3 kilometres from the capital, Chora. Enjoy your dives in its deep blue waters with a view over Delos. A sandy, well-equipped beach, it's an ideal choice for all tastes and ages.

Megali Ammos.  A quiet beach close by. This is the first large, unorganised sandy beach on Mykonos, offering great moments away from the crowds. Due to the strong winds, Megali Ammos is ideal for windsurfing and kitesurfing.

Elia and its endless sandy beach. Of all the beaches on Mykonos, Elia is one of the most popular with visitors. It is characterised by its huge expanse of golden sand, crystal-clear waters and views of the neighbouring island of Naxos. The right-hand side of the beach is dedicated to nudism.

Paradise A beautiful beach with clear waters and thick sand. However, Paradise is best known for its foot-in-the-water, glass-in-hand parties, which start in the afternoon and last until the early hours of the morning. This trendy and crowded beach is one of the must-visit destinations for young people.

Super Paradise. The island's reputation as the ultimate entertainment destination is built on this. At Super Paradise, the atmosphere soars with unbridled music and famous beach parties. It's also an excellent beach. It's no coincidence that it's been one of the world's most sought-after summer destinations for years. Whatever your age, this is the beach to visit when you come to Mykonos.
